After surviving bulimia, hospitalization, Hashimoto's hypothyroidism, psoriasis, and eczema, I am sharing the unconventional biohacks, healing rituals, and wellness practices that transformed my body, nervous system, skin, energy, and mindset naturally.
My Story ~ From Hospital Beds to Holistic Healing
The Wake-Up Call That Changed Everything
In my 20s, I nearly lost my life. At 5'11", my weight had dropped to only 97 pounds after years of struggling with bulimia, self-worth issues, and a body that felt like it was constantly breaking down. I remember lying in a hospital bed feeling exhausted, emotionally numb, and terrified that I had damaged my body beyond repair.
Not long after, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism. Then came the psoriasis. The eczema. The bloating. The anxiety. The chronic fatigue. The hormonal chaos. My skin hurt. My digestion was a mess. My nervous system felt completely fried. And while conventional medicine gave me labels for what was happening... I still didn't feel truly healed.
So I began searching. Not just for symptom relief... But for restoration.
Over the years, I immersed myself in living foods, herbalism, detoxification, nervous system healing, frequency medicine, sunlight exposure, circadian rhythm research, peptide support, grounding practices, and holistic rituals that completely transformed my body and mind.
Some of the things I do may sound unconventional. Some people laugh at them.

But many of these practices helped me reclaim my energy, skin, hormones, confidence, digestion, and peace. And today, approaching 50, I genuinely feel healthier, calmer, and more vibrant than I did in my 20s.
This blog is not medical advice. It's simply my story... And the wellness rituals that changed my life.
1. Wheatgrass enemas and juice Every Single Week
Why Chlorophyll Became One of My Favorite Healing Tools

Wheatgrass was one of the first things I consistently added into my wellness routine after years of nutrient depletion. When you struggle with eating disorders, chronic stress, and autoimmune issues, your body often becomes deeply mineral deficient.
Wheatgrass contains chlorophyll, enzymes, antioxidants, and trace minerals that many holistic wellness enthusiasts believe support detoxification and vitality.
My Favorite Benefits of Wheatgrass
- Supports hydration at a cellular level
- Rich in chlorophyll and antioxidants
- Helps me feel energized naturally
- Supports glowing skin and digestion
- Encourages mineral replenishment
My Tip
I prefer fresh wheatgrass shots over powdered versions whenever possible. I also rotate it alongside fresh juices and living foods for variety.
2. Coffee Enemas
One of the Most Controversial Wellness Rituals I Still Practice

Yes... I still do coffee enemas after all these years. While they are controversial, many people in holistic wellness communities use them as part of detoxification protocols and liver support routines.
For me personally, they became part of my healing journey during a time when my digestion and inflammation were at their worst.
What I Personally Notice
- Feeling lighter afterward
- Reduced bloating
- Improved mental clarity
- Nervous system calm
- Support during periods of stress
Important Note
Coffee enemas are not for everyone, and anyone considering them should do proper research and consult a qualified healthcare professional.
3. Sunlight Before Screens
This Changed My Hormones More Than I Expected
One of the simplest things I do every morning is expose my eyes and body to natural sunlight before looking at my phone. This one habit dramatically changed my sleep quality and energy levels. Circadian rhythm health matters more than most people realize.

Benefits I Personally Experienced
- Better sleep quality
- More stable energy throughout the day
- Improved mood
- Less afternoon fatigue
- Better nervous system regulation
My Morning Ritual
I try to get outside within the first 30 minutes of waking, even if it's only for 5-10 minutes. For more information on circadian rhythm research, visit: Huberman Lab Circadian Rhythm Guide

4. Red Light Therapy
One of My Favorite Anti-Aging Rituals

Red light therapy became part of my nightly self-care practice during a season when my skin and nervous system needed support. I personally love using it before bed because it feels deeply calming. Many wellness enthusiasts use red light therapy as part of beauty and recovery routines.
Why I Love It
- Supports relaxation before sleep
- Encourages skin appearance and glow
- Supports post-workout recovery
- Helps me slow down mentally
- Creates a calming nighttime ritual

Consistency Matters
I've found wellness routines work best when they become part of your lifestyle instead of a temporary "fix."

5. Frequency Healing & Resonance Devices
Healing Has a Frequency
I know this topic makes some people uncomfortable. But frequency medicine and sound therapy fascinate me. Over the years, I've explored vibration-based wellness tools, sound frequencies, grounding practices, meditation, and energetic healing modalities as part of my overall wellness journey.

Why I'm Drawn to Frequency Wellness
- Encourages relaxation
- Helps me feel emotionally grounded
- Supports meditation practices
- Creates intentional stillness
- Supports nervous system calm

My Perspective
Even if you're skeptical, there's something powerful about slowing down long enough to reconnect with yourself.
6. Designing My Bedroom for Healing
Your Environment Impacts Your Nervous System

Most people underestimate how much their environment affects their stress levels. I intentionally designed my bedroom to feel calming, warm, peaceful, and restorative. Soft lighting. Plants. Salt lamps. Minimal overstimulation. Comfortable textures. Warm earthy tones. All of it matters.
Healing Spaces Can Support:
- Better sleep quality
- Nervous system regulation
- Emotional calm
- Reduced overstimulation
- Evening relaxation rituals
Tiny Changes Matter
You don't need a perfect Pinterest bedroom. Even dimming harsh lights at night can help your nervous system unwind.
7. Flowers, Beauty & Feminine Energy
Beauty Has a Frequency Too

This may sound simple... But flowers genuinely heal me emotionally. Fresh flowers, gardening, sunlight, and nature reconnect me to softness and creativity. My grandmother La Golda taught me the importance of growing flowers, herbs, and food from the earth. Looking back, I realize she was teaching nervous system healing long before it became trendy online.
Why I Keep Flowers Around
- They elevate mood naturally
- Encourage mindfulness
- Inspire creativity
- Bring softness into stressful environments
- Help me reconnect with feminine energy

8. A Mostly Raw, Enzyme-Rich Diet
Living Foods Changed My Skin & Digestion

I'm not dogmatic about food anymore. But adding more living foods into my lifestyle transformed my digestion, skin, hydration, and energy. Even if someone eats meat, I still encourage them to increase raw fruits, vegetables, herbs, sprouts, and enzyme-rich foods.
Foods I Focus On
- Fresh juices
- Sprouts
- Wheatgrass
- Cucumbers
- Leafy greens
- Herbs
- Raw salads
- Hydrating fruits
What I Learned
Healing is rarely about perfection. It's usually about consistency.
9. Nervous System Healing Became My Real Anti-Aging Secret
Chronic Stress Ages the Body

One of the biggest things I've learned is that chronic emotional stress impacts the body deeply. You can eat perfectly... Take every supplement... And still struggle if your nervous system constantly feels unsafe.
Things That Help Me Regulate
- Breathwork
- Meditation
- Nature walks
- Red light therapy
- Limiting overstimulation
- Prayer
- Silence
- Better boundaries
Healing Is Emotional Too
Sometimes the most powerful biohack is finally creating peace in your life.
10. Healing Isn't About Looking Perfect
It's About Feeling Alive Again
People often assume healing is only physical. But true healing is emotional... Spiritual... Energetic... Mental... And physical.
The older I get, the more I realize wellness isn't about punishment. It's about creating a body and life that feel safe, nourished, energized, and aligned. Some of the wellness practices I use may not resonate with everyone. That's okay. The point is to stay curious. To listen to your body. To reconnect with yourself. And to never stop healing.
