Baking Soda Enema Benefits & Side Effects (Plus Recipe Directions)

How to make a baking soda enema

I love enemas! I've been doing coffee enemas and boasting about their benefits for decades. Today I'm going to introduce you to another favorite colon cleansing enema! The amazing baking soda enemas!

My Baking Soda enema recipe is a unique intestinal cleanse combining sea salt and baking soda that will have you kissing your irritable bowel syndrome goodbye! It is a way to gently cleanse the human body while gaining a plethora of health benefits.

An enema is a procedure of introducing fluid into the rectum via the anal canal. The main function of an enema is to clear the body of accumulated toxins through the colon! Any people notice a sense of well-being after a colonic or enema. The history of doing enemas goes way back to the Egyptians. I've been doing enemas and clinics for 20 years and believe in the healing powers of cleaning the colon! Health begins in the gut! We're only as healthy as our digestion. One of my favorite enemas that always leaves me as a chipper Lil butterfly is a baking soda sea salt enema!

The human body pH is 7. 35, when baking soda and water are mixed, their combined pH level becomes more than the body pH level. Therefore leaving the body in an alkaline state where parasites and disease cannot thrive. Most of my clients after taking a baking soda enema feel an elevated mood and content feeling; this is due to the enhanced activity in receptors to the brain. The enema tends to increase the absorption of certain chemicals like serotonin and endorphins.

Baking Soda Enema Recipe

• 1 to 2 tablespoons of baking soda

• 2 quarts of warm and filtered water

• 2 tsp sea salt • Mix well before use

The temperature should be between, 100 to 101 degrees Fahrenheit.

Enjoy and make the time yours! I generally take 45 minutes to do an enema. It's my "me time"! I often play soft music, burn a candle, and read some positive affirmations. Make your enema your time!

Baking soda enema benefits

The AMAZINGLY long list of baking soda enema benefits is endless!

Performing a baking soda enema is an effective way of cleansing the body. It is one of the best ways to clean the body of toxins. So many health problems persist because the body can’t clear itself of poisons. Many think of enemas as something used before undergoing healthcare procedures, such as endoscopies, x-rays, and different forms of surgery. But using a baking soda enema on a more frequent basis has many health benefits (more on that below). Baking soda and sea salt are products that are high in phosphorus which is vital in helping the body function properly.

A baking soda enema helps eradicate constipation and will regulate your bowel movements. It is often used for after-surgery care and promotes faster healing. If you are trying a baking soda enema for the first time, you should consult a doctor if you have health problems that could lead to complications. People who have cardiac complications, blocked colons, and kidney problems are not advised to perform enemas.

  • Effectively relieves constipation
  • Helps in bowel cleansing
  • Use to check for diarrhea
  • Reduce body temperature
  • Treatment for encopresis
  • Used for Rehydration therapy of the colon

Although you may have baking soda enema side effects, this is extremely uncommon.

What else can you add to a baking soda enema recipe?

Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass repopulates your gut flora and alkalizes your digestive system.

Epsom salt

The use of Epsom salts can further aid the body in releasing mucoid plaque from the body.

Garlic

Garlic helps aid the body in ridding itself of candida (yeast overgrowth).

Coffee

Just like a coffee enema, coffee helps to stimulate the portal vein to release old bile from the liver. This allows the bowels to move more freely.

FAQs

Are sodium bicarbonate enemas the same as baking soda enemas?

It is vitally important that you ONLY use Bob's Red Mill baking soda enemas as many other forms of sodium bicarbonate are filled with aluminum.

Please consult with your healthcare provider or wellness practitioner prior to doing any type of enemas. Your doctor may want you to have an x-ray prior to colon cleansing. Your wellness practitioner may desire you to try a stool softener prior to doing an enema.

You may also check the food and drug administration's website to see their dietary recommendations for constipation and cleansing.

Remember, all enemas have a laxative effect on the human body.
