What Is Urine Therapy? A Tradition Spanning Millennia

Usage of human urine for medicinal or cosmetic purposes ~ often called urotherapy, auto-urine therapy, or in yogic traditions “Amaroli” ~ dates back thousands of years. Cultures from ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, India, and beyond recorded urine therapy as a remedy for skin disorders, wounds, and systemic illnesses.
In traditional Ayurvedic circles, practitioners believed that urine was not simply a waste product ~ but rather a distilled essence of the blood, carrying vital “life force.” Some texts referred to it as the “gold of the blood” or the “elixir of long life.”
Over centuries, this practice evolved: some drank their own fresh morning urine, others used it topically ~ massaging into skin or gums ~ hoping to tap into its purported healing capacities.
My Personal Path: Why I Incorporated Urine Therapy Into My Healing Protocol
As someone deeply committed to ancestral wisdom, holistic healing, and returning the body to natural balance (through living foods, detox, energetic healing, etc.), I was always drawn to modalities outside mainstream nutrition and medicine.
When I discovered urine therapy ~ in its simplicity and radical honesty ~ it resonated with the same ethos that guides all of my work: that the body has innate healing power and that what we often discard may, in fact, carry hidden gifts.
I chose to drink my fresh morning urine and also apply a small amount topically. In my experience, this helped me feel more balanced ~ hormonally, energetically, and emotionally. I believe it helped clear my skin, support detox, and reconnect me with a more primal sense of self-healing.
Because my work is built on healing, truth, and integrity, I feel called to share this path ~ not as a “quick fix,” but as a bold, conscious choice.
What About Modern Science? The Mixed ~ and Often Critical ~ Research

It’s important to look at urine therapy with clear eyes. Modern medical and scientific reviews are often skeptical. According to mainstream medical sources, there is no strong, reliable evidence that drinking or applying urine offers proven health benefits ~ especially for skin conditions like acne.
For example, an article summarizing clinical evidence concluded that despite widespread historical use, “urine therapy” remains a folk remedy ~ not one verified by controlled human studies.
That said, there is interesting emerging science regarding urine-derived stem cells (USCs). Researchers have identified that certain cells shed into urine can be collected non-invasively and have potential applications in regenerative medicine ~ including skin, bone, and tissue repair.
However ~ crucially ~ that research does not demonstrate that drinking urine or applying unprocessed urine directly to your skin produces those benefits. The therapeutic potential resides in specialized cells isolated under strict lab conditions, not in casual “self-administered” urine therapy.
Medical reviewers consistently warn about risks: urine can carry waste products, salts, and even bacteria, which may negatively impact health if re-ingested or reapplied.
In short: while the ancient tradition is real ~ and some modern science is exploring related avenues ~ the evidence remains unproven for many of the bold claims made by proponents.
Transparency, Integrity & Conscious Choice: My Perspective
Because I honor both ancestral wisdom and the integrity of scientific truth, I want to be clear:
• I believe in urine therapy as part of my holistic, spiritual healing journey.
• I have personally experienced what feels like hormonal balance and clearer skin through this practice.
• But I also acknowledge the limitations: there is no large-scale scientific proof that guarantees these effects, and there are valid medical concerns over safety and efficacy.
Therefore, I encourage anyone interested in this path to do so with full awareness, discernment, and respect for their own body.
If you follow me, you know I honor root-level healing, cellular detox, living foods, herbalism, breath work, and energetic alignment first. Urine therapy ~ for me ~ is a complementary, deeply personal choice, not a guaranteed cure.
Media Spotlight: My Appearance in the Press

Recently, a UK editor came across one of my video reels and was intrigued by my wellness philosophy ~ and by my willingness to speak out about taboo subjects. That led to a feature in the press, where I shared a bit about urine therapy and my approach to holistic healing.
The feature ~ with my story, my convictions, and my message of empowerment ~ resonated widely. It opened up a dialogue, invited curiosity, and allowed me to reach more women who are searching for alternative paths to healing and authenticity.

Final Thoughts: Healing, Sovereignty & Choosing What You Believe
Urine therapy stands at the intersection of ancient wisdom, personal faith, and modern controversy.
For me, it is a declaration of sovereignty ~ a refusal to surrender my body, my truth, or my healing journey to mainstream judgment alone.
If you read this and feel called to explore ~ do so consciously. Honor your body. Respect your intuition. Embrace integrity.
What I (Andrea) Believe, Given My Experience + the Science
• I honor ancestral wisdom and intuitive healing ~ and I still choose urine therapy as part of my holistic practice.
• From my personal experience, I believe it helped me feel more balanced, supported detox, and contributed to better skin and hormonal harmony.
• I share these scientific studies so that you ~ my readers / clients ~ can see what is currently known and what remains unproven. Transparency and integrity are essential to me.
• If you explore this path ~ please do so with awareness, discernment, and respect for your own body.
Because at the end of the day: healing is not a one-sizefits-all prescription. It’s a personal path. And for some, ancient practices like urine therapy ~ when undertaken with awareness and discernment ~ may become part of a deeper transformation.
