This is one of the top questions I get. Should you eat salt? What kind of salt should you eat? If I'm 80-10-10 what should I do? In this video I wanted to talk to you about my some of my favorite sodium sources and how I like to use them and why. The four I'll talk about in this video are coconut aminos, black lava salt, celtic sea salt and celery.
To recap a bit about what I covered in my first ever salt video, regular salt blows me up and I can really tell it the next day. I find that Celtic sea salt is great on a salad and it, like the other two sodium sources don't have the same inflammatory effect on me like regular salt does.
If I have some digestive distress I use just a pinch of Black Lava salt from Hawaii with activated charcoal, it's very good in assisting in eliminating the bowels if you have eaten something that doesn't sit well with you, this is the power of the activated charcoal.
I also like to use the coconut aminos, a low glycemic coconut based, salt source, high in amino acids and B vitamins. I use it with my raw cauliflower dishes and on salads. I prefer to use this over another amino liquids because it's from coconuts and not soy.
The best natural way to get your sodium is with fresh organic celery or dried celery, it's also very high in hydrochloric acid, that is why I juice so much of it in my juices, the hydrochloric acid in celery is good for digestion.
Additionally I would like to say something that I didn't cover in the video; Whenever possible I prefer to get my sodium from natural occurring foods such as sea vegetables, kim chee and sauerkraut.
